Welcome back to the AI Edge weekly newsletter.

We hope you’re having a great week!

This week's edition is for those of you looking to unlock the full potential of AI in your work and increase your daily productivity.

Everyone's talking about AI - but few people have actually built a tool stack that buys back time, and genuinely changes how they work on a daily basis.

In this publication, we’re aiming to solve that problem and provide you with a curated list of the top AI tools - specifically built for work productivity.

Our criteria for this list are as follows:

  • The AI tool has to be a “daily driver” - meaning, you actually rely on it daily and not one-off use cases

  • Generalist - the tool has to be helpful across multiple roles & departments

  • Low friction - easy to download, free/cheap tiers available, and low setup time

After breaking down our curated tools list, we’ll dive into the Midweek Edge - where we cover the most important AI updates from the last week (there are many things worth knowing!), and our weekly Looking Ahead section - a quick overview of upcoming AI trends to be on the lookout for.

Be sure to stick around until the end so you don’t miss anything :)

Here are the six AI productivity tools we actually recommend.

#6: Zapier

Zapier is the glue that holds your entire stack together.

Zapier is like a bridge that connects your apps and automates the workflows between them with no code.

We specifically recommend this tool for anyone running repetitive tasks across multiple tools daily - if you’re moving information between apps by hand, Zapier eliminates it.

Workflow example: A new lead fills out your form → Zapier adds them to your CRM → sends a Slack notification to your team → creates a follow-up task in Notion.

Set up these automations once, and they run in the background forever.

#5: NEW Claude Design

Last Friday, Anthropic shipped the most powerful AI design tool ever.

Claude Design lets you build visual prototypes, pitch decks, one-pagers, and more through natural language prompting.

All you have to do is describe what you need, and it builds a first version on a live canvas.

You can then refine through chat, inline comments, or direct edits.

Design Example: using the AI Edge brand guidelines to build visuals around Claude content👇

This is something that literally used to take us hours of prompting - now all automated through a simple Design template in Claude Design.

If you’re in a creative role or work with visual presentations, this is a must-try!

#4: Granola

Ok - we’ve tested every AI meeting notes tool imaginable.

Fireflies, OtterAI, TLDV, Notion AI - you name it.

Granola is hands down the best tool that most of our team has completely switched to.

Pros: no meeting bots, automatically transcribes every audio input, simple UI/UX, easily share notes, prompt AI for insights based on your meetings, and more.

We specifically recommend this tool for those of you who prefer minimalist tools that “just work” out of the box.

#3: SuperhumanAI

Superhuman is the ultimate AI assistant platform.

Gain access to:

  • GrammarlyAI - AI-powered spell check Chrome extension

  • Superhuman Mail - AI email assistant

  • AI detector - detect AI in text

  • Proofreader - AI-powered proofreader

  • Humanizer - “humanize” AI text

    and more

This tool is an all-in-one, lightweight agentic solution that lives in the background of your browser.

Easy to use, and it’s been an essential part of our AI stack ever since Grammarly merged into Superhuman.

#2: Notion

The ultimate AI second brain platform.

If you’re not familiar, Notion is where your knowledge, projects, and workflows live, and Notion AI sits on top of all of it.

We’re big fans of Notion, and the Notion team continues to ship valuable AI tools.

For example, Notion Agents just went live, which allows AI agents to access your data and create insights/workflows around it.

Whether you need a simple to-do list or an advanced CRM, Notion can leverage AI to build it in seconds.

#1: Claude Cowork

If you’ve been following us for some time, you’ll know how much we love Cowork.

It’s the #1 tool for getting started with AI automation, and the lowest-hanging fruit that yields high ROI.

We use it for automated scheduled tasks, connecting Cowork to our tools, accessing local desktop files with AI & way more.

Not to mention, you can use Claude Dispatch, which allows you to prompt your desktop device on the go from your phone - literally like having a 24/7 personal assistant.

If you haven’t played around with Cowork already, we highly recommend doing so, and it’s our #1 pick for a reason.

To access Claude Cowork, you’ll need to download the Claude desktop app.

There you have it, our top 6 AI tools for maximum productivity (April 2026 edition).

Remember, you don’t have to test every tool - just pick a couple based on our brief overviews here.

Now, let’s dive into the Midweek Edge - our manually curated list of only the most important AI updates to ensure you stay up to speed.

🚨 Claude Design is LIVE 🚨

As mentioned above, Anthropic recently deployed a new AI design platform - “Claude Design.”

We use design tools regularly (Canva, Figma, etc.), and Claude Design has been the most powerful by far.

🚨 Opus 4.7 is LIVE 🚨

Anthropic’s best model ever just released.

Our overview: great coding model, but very expensive. Also, some people have noted Opus 4.7 feels “off.”

Full benchmarks & comparison:

🚨Kimi K2.6 - BETTER than Opus 4.7? 🚨

Ok - this is wild.

Kimi just shipped their new K2.6 model, and it’s genuinely on par with, or better than, GPT5.4 and Opus 4.7.

Completely open-sourced and a fraction of the cost of Opus/GPT.

Definitely worth injecting into your local AI setups (like OpenClaw).

Full benchmarks & comparison:

🚨Claude Code gets a major rebuild 🚨

Anthropic redesigned the Claude Code desktop app for macOS and Windows with better support for parallel AI agents, improved transcripts, notifications, and remote control features.

If you read our last newsletter, you’ll know we talked about expecting these new features in our “Looking Ahead” section!

Test it on your Claude Desktop app now.

🚨 SpaceXAI Partners With Cursor 🚨

Cursor and SpaceXAI have partnered to create the world’s most useful AI models.

Absolutely massive partnership.

👀 Cursor to raise $2B at $50B+ valuation 👀

AI coding tool Cursor is in advanced talks to raise $2B in new funding at a valuation of $50B+ pre-money.

Round co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and Thrive Capital, with NVIDIA and Battery Ventures participating.

Already oversubscribed, nearly doubling the $29.3B valuation from just five months ago.

👀 Claude Design Roadmap 👀

Claude Design launched in research preview, and Anthropic mentioned that additional integrations and features will be added in the coming weeks.

Be on the lookout for new Design features soon!

👀 GPT-5.5 Spud - Model Expected Soon 👀

Polymarket is at 80%+ for a new GPT model release for April 23.

Live production testing has already been confirmed for April 19.

If OpenAI ships this week, expect it to directly challenge Opus 4.7's coding capabilities.
